Minor airlines of U.S. such as Alaska and Hawaiian are expanding their routes to international destinations but basic features such as automated online check-in and booking management for passengers are still unavailable, falling short of international standards.
Newly developing U.S. airlines are not equipped with automated system like ones from other regions, espacially Asia and Arabia, where it's expected for any international operators or even for domestic routes when operated by major airlines of 1st and 2nd tiers. Alaska and Hawaiian airlines cannot import passenger information fornsales made by their online travel agencies and require check-in at airport kiosks/counters, thus extending processing times and limiting how soon a passenger can enter the airside of the terminal.
